IgG humanized minipig, possible replacement for nonhuman primates in research

BTS Congress 2025 -- The use of nonhuman primates (NHPs) in biomedical research, particularly for the development of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and other biologics, has raised ethical concerns and led to interest in alternatives that can reduce or replace NHP models. One promising alternative is the humanized minipig, which has become a subject of increasing research in immunology and drug development.
