Comparison of anesthetized and unanesthetized intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements in mice

ARVO 2025 -- The mouse is an important species for the development of gene therapies because transgenic disease models are often available. The size of the mouse eye presents challenges when assessing endpoints that are common in larger species. The intent of this work was to determine if the use of anesthesia during IOP measurements would improve the standard deviation (SD) of the mean results and reduce the frequency of invalid readings for mice.
